HISTORY OF THE
COURTNEY CREEK FARM
ARTISAN MARKETPLACE

The marketplace started in 1996, out of our garage in Brownsville, Oregon. The next year, Ed Lafayette, a dear friend and Brownsville native, had finished the amazing restorations of the Historic Courtney Creek Schoolhouse, and approached us about holding our show in the Schoolhouse. An enigma was born.

In the 90's, there were very few shows that were set in grand boutique style; with antiques, top end handcrafts, fine art, and cottage industry gourmet food products as well as a full range of bakery items. The show
attracted customers from all over the state. Its’ start date; the day after Thanksgiving, made it a yearly custom of an incredible number of families, who still talk about it today.

The staging was impeccable, the curating of the vendors; top notch. The show continued twice a year until 2006, until the founder, Kim, and her three boys sold the show and moved away. Without the team, the show eventually came to an end.

Kim remained a full time artist/junker/crafter, participating in large shows throughout Washington, Idaho, Montana and Oregon. In 2023, she came back to Central Oregon, and her then grown and married kids started asking about Courtney creek. In December of 2024, with her grown kids on board, they decided to resurrect the show into it’s full glory.
